Embracing the opportunity to refine his skills, Jonathan enrolled at the Ecole Nationale du Verre. Successively earning a CAP in glass decoration and a DMA in architectural glass and crystal decoration, he put his project to the test with professionals. In 2013, he achieved the title of MAF glass decorator, a testament to his technical progress. Post-graduation, he established his own business catering to professionals, specializing in enamelled glass for interior decoration, including art furniture, partition walls, and trays. Collaborating with craftsmen and architects, this phase allowed him to carve out his distinctive identity.
Driven by a growing passion for creating personal pieces, Jonathan envisioned his first collections of objets d’art. His expertise in enamelling, thermoforming, and volcanic rock work, coupled with a preference for thick glass, inspired him to think in layers. By exploring combinations of assemblies and superimpositions, he developed a unique approach. Explaining his creative process, he shared, “With thin slats composed vertically, I create volumes by accumulation, I create luminous atmospheres, I play with viewpoints and distances. As for the large volumes fused horizontally, they engage a more graphic reflection, more focused on the balance between thicknesses, the dispersion of colors, and variations in transparency.”
With the debut of his Fluence collection, Jonathan asserts his identity at international trade fairs, showcasing glass with a distinctive aesthetic and a meaningful production process. His current objectives include advancing his technical research in enamelling to align with his aesthetic ideals and sharing his visionary perspective on glass.
